Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is in a perfect location, within walking distance of major attractions like Perth Station, Hay St Mall, and Barrack Jetty. The rooms were a bit small and old with questionable linens but surprisingly quiet despite the central location. The service was a mixed bag, ranging from dismissive to efficiently friendly. Dining was basic but offered good value for money. The overall experience was dampened by the dark and dingy atmosphere and unpleasant odors in the rooms.
The hotel's location is excellent, close to various amenities and shops. The rooms, although a bit dated, are clean and offer good value for the price paid. The service was a mix of unprofessional behavior and friendly assistance. The location is convenient, with easy access to transportation, but some maintenance issues are apparent. The dining options are basic but satisfactory, helping guests save money compared to dining out in the area.
The hotel is centrally located, making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers. The rooms had some issues like a small size and maintenance problems, but having air conditioning was a plus. The service was somewhat indifferent to room faults but had a touch of character. The dining options were average, with little variety over the stay. The location was excellent, offering easy access to main attractions and halal food outlets.
The hotel's location is a mixed blessing, with a cafe opening onto a street frequented by various individuals. The rooms, while basic, are clean and comfortable. The service had its ups and downs with some inconveniences. The dining options were adequate, but there is room for improvement. Pricing was fair with a slight downside for credit card payments.
The hotel's rooms were tired and in need of attention but did have tea making facilities, which turned out to be a great benefit, especially in the morning and late at night. The rooms were very dark. The service was well-mannered and most helpful with our requests, especially at the counter. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is very close to the shops, with the free bus stop about 100 meters away, close to rail, in a one-way system, and very close to the Hay Street Mall, Barrack Street Jetty, Perth Mint, St Mary's Cathedral, and many restaurants and shops. The dining experience in the Criterion Cafe was worth the money, but it had a very limited choice of food and possibly the worst buffet breakfast I've ever had.
I had a disappointing experience at this hotel. The rooms were dirty with hair on the carpets, the bathroom was unclean, and there was a bad smell lingering. The staff were rude and unhelpful, making my stay cheap and nasty. I would recommend avoiding this place.
